Adventure Walks

Once a year, go somewhere you have never been before―Dalai Lama

We are pleased to launch our brand new premium adventure experience.

Sometimes there just isn’t enough time in the day to give your dog the kind of life you want them to have – and this is where our new adventure experience fits right in.  I know all too well the feeling of guilt when you believe you havn’t given your dog enough exercise or attention.

Every walk with Cumbria Canine Services is an adventure.  We don’t do the run of the mill trek around the streets – we go out into the countryside, we see the fells, lakes and coastline of Cumbria.

We provide a premium adventure catering for all, from our Tiny Paws Adventures for puppies up to 6 months for 30 mins, Golden Oldie Adventures for our precious O.A.P’s for 30mins, Trekkers Adventures which are a minimum of 45mins,  and our Explorer Adventures which are a minimum of 1hr 30mins of adventuring. Details for all adventures below.

We also cater for dogs who don’t want to walk with others – our Lone Wolf Adventures are perfect for those dogs who like an adventure with just a human companion, or for those who would like all the fuss and attention for themselves!

We can come and pick your dog up, take them out on a structured exciting adventure, returning them to you happy and contented.

We only take out a maximum of three dogs, and to participate your dog must be happy  mixing with other dogs in a group.  When we introduce new dogs, we always do it in a gradual process, and always with an extra leader on hand so that we can go in different directions if necessary.  Your dogs safety, happiness and well-being is my primary concern, and it is extremely important to me that our clients are comfortable and safe on their adventures.

When transporting your dogs, each dog will have their own secure area where they cannot access another dog – this may be a crate, boot space or on a seat with a properly fitted car harness, or in purpose built dog van units.  We will discuss with you how to best transport your dog at your initial meet and greet with Jody.

Adventures can be on lead or off lead, if your dog has a good recall.  We also offer adventure leaders with extensive behavioural knowledge, canine first aid training and they all hold current DBS checks.

You can use our online booking system to fill in all of the information you would like us to know about your dog, and we provide feedback emails every day to let you know how your dog has been, and also daily photo updates on our social media platforms.

So if you are heading out for the day, or you are busy working, or even if you just fancy giving your dog a treat, get in touch to see if an adventure might be a good option for your dog.

Tiny Paws Adventure

When you sign up your puppy to accompany our experienced and qualified Adventure Leaders, on a Tiny Paws adventure you will be getting a lot more than just a walk.  We start off with working on our bond with your pup, playing recall games, and practising any commands you will be using to stay consistent with your training.  We can work with you to get your pup ready to graduate to our longer adventures at 6mths old.

Golden Oldie Adventure

We believe that just because we get a little older – it doesn’t mean that we can’t enjoy an adventure.  Our Golden Oldie Adventures are carefully tailored to provide easy terrain, with lots of sniffs and gentle exploration.  We can go at a slower pace but still provide an enriching experience.

Trekkers Adventure

A trekkers adventure is a great option to introduce your dog to the exciting adventures that they might be going on.  Our trekkers go to all the best places – secret paths, low lying fells and visiting the coasts and lakes.

A trekkers adventure will provide your dog with a break from home, exercise opportunities, fun and games with the adventure leader and return them to you contented and happy.

Explorer Adventure

An explorer adventure is perfect for high energy dogs, and for dogs that enjoy exploring for longer periods of time.  During an explorer adventure, we have a fantastic time making sure that your dogs needs are met, so that you can enjoy your time with them when you are at home.

Lone Wolf Adventures

A Lone Wolf Adventure might be suitable for many different reasons.  If your dog doesn’t like to mix with other dogs, or you prefer that they don’t mix for whatever reason, then we have you covered.

We can also cater for dogs recovering from surgery with our Lone Wolf Adventures  by liasing with your vet or physio on specific needs.

Some of our greatest historical and artistic treasures we place with curators in museums; others we take for walks.
