One-to-One Training

When we envisage ourselves with a dog, we all want a pet that will fit effortlessly into our family and will be a companion and friend. Sometimes this isn’t quite what we get, and often, it can be simple miscommunication causing the problems between canine and human.

Cumbria Canine Services can help you open a line of communication that both parties understand, with the aim of improving your life together.

We can help with a range of issues including recall, house-training, dog aggression, people aggression, nervous aggression, separation anxiety, introducing a new pet to your home and planning for arrival of a new baby.

Cumbria Canine Services offer a variety of walks which are individually tailored to your pet. Walks can be on lead or off lead, if your dog has a good recall.  We also offer walkers with extensive behavioural knowledge and first aid training. Whether it is a puppy soicalisation walk, a three hour hike into the fells, or a gentle potter around the local area, we can tailor a walk to suit your requirements.

Your dog will be carefully matched with a suitable companion/s for a sociable walk.

Pet Sitting

We offer a variety of packages to suit you and your dog. From 15 minute visits during the working week, to overnight stays whilst you are on holiday.

Daily visit

Either a 15 minute or 45 minute visit. Includes cuddles, play and toileting.

Full day package

Includes morning, afternoon and evening visit. Morning adventure, and afternoon and evening let out and play session in home or garden (30 minutes each).

Overnight Stay

We make your home our base, returning in between other commitments. Your dog will get at least two walks during the day, and have overnight company. The maximum length of time your dog will be left will be agreed with you beforehand, depending on our other commitments. This services does not provide 24 hour supervision.

Home Boarding

Your dog will live as part of my family, enjoying outings and walks with my own dogs, and if suitable the dog walking client dogs.

Time left alone will be limited, and by negotiation with you the owner.

Home Boarding can be combined with a training package, where we can work with your dog on specific problems such as lead walking, recall or housetraining.  This will occur an extra charge.

Other services are available at an additional cost during home boarding/pet sitting, such as puppy class attendence, hydrotherapy.

Previously to a confirmed home boarding booking, we would need to have at least two meetings with your dog and our own to ensure that your dog is a suitable match and will be happy and content.
